I remember the first time my wife and I tried to bathe our newborn daughter. She was not happy about the experience at all. She screamed the kind of scream that every new parent hates to hear, the kind of scream that you can do nothing about and worry that you may have permanently damaged your relationship with your child. The thought enters your mind, “is this something that one day she will have to get inner healing for?” especially if its your first child. We did our best to try and comfort her while we washed her and as soon as we pulled her out of the bath she stopped crying and was completely fine.
No inner healing needed.
Now that she is almost 2 years old, things have dramatically changed. She loves bath time and has the greatest of times splashing around in the bath, but as soon as we try to get her out she screams and puts up a fight like you wouldn’t believe. Read the rest of this entry »
On July 28, 2010 in Hawaii, YWAM honored the life of Keith Green. Watching the service I was stirred again by the message of his life and was impacted by the realization that the message never changes, it is still the same to this day. We cannot be those who abdicate our responsibility to be salt and light in the earth, we must go! Going might mean you become active in seeing the kingdom of God come where you are, or it might mean you pack up your bags and really go, either way we have a command and a mandate to follow. This generation has gorged itself on entertainment and laziness, and the voice of the patriarchs from generation call to us today, shake off the lethargy, shake of complacency, its not about the crowds, the lights or the show, its about the heart of Jesus.
I wrote this song the next day.
It seems everyone would prefer the “bright lights” of what they think a music ministry would be, rather than the mud and obscurity of the mission field, or the streets of the ghetto, or even the true spiritual sweetness of just being a nobody whom the Lord uses mightily in small “everyday” ways.” – KG

“This recording has been the result of 3 years of writing, recording, waiting and then writing and recording again. The purpose for this record was not just to be another worship/rock and roll album, but a collection of songs that would enable people to cross over into a new place of worship through a familiar sound. I wanted this album to be a bridging point between two worlds. The reality is, songs that reach beyond the “worship” genre or the “contemporary” genre are greatly needed in the days to come. We need a restoration of the kind of song that was sung at creation that took the void and brought forth creation. We need songs that can take the chaos we all endure on a day to day basis and bring hope. That is the prayer that accompanies this record.
My prayer is that as you listen, angels would be sent on your behalf, heaven would come down and as a result your hope would be restored.”
I am so excited to announce that my new record entitled “Maranatha” will be available for download officially on June 1, 2010. I will be putting up some videos and some snippets of the songs for you to listen to over the next few weeks.
I would really appreciate your help in getting the message out, so stay tuned for how you can be a part of helping spread the word. Thanks for your support!
